I am grateful for gardens. I am grateful for the life lessons that it teaches. Today we had 2 huge bags of garden fresh green beans which Mary and I were teaching Hannah and Austin how to snap. As a kid I helped Mom, Aunt Virginia, and Grandma Rittenour do beans. I learned to snap, cook, can, and freeze them. These are skills that I am so glad I was taught. These are skills that a lot of children today are not taught and that is sad.
