I am grateful to the School Teachers and Service Personnel of the great state of WV. We do so much for the children of the state of WV. Yesterday and Today we are out on the front lines fighting for what we believe in and deserve.

We deserve to have better pay. Right now WV ranks #49 in the nation in pay for school employees. Our legislators are ranked #5 in the nation in pay. Something is wrong with this picture. We deserve pay that is equivalent to what we do each day for the students in our schools. We are not getting that. Our legislators are not even considering Education.

Then there is our health insurance...PEIA. This has gotten worse in the last 10 years. If I get sick I have to see a provider in their network in the state of WV. If I have to go to the hospital I can't go to RMH or WMC anymore. I have to go to an in state hospital. What we have to pay for insurance is going up and what we have to pay out of pocket for medical cost is also going up.

These are just the tip of the ice burg of what we would like to see change for us. We need the support of the parents and the community. We need you to write or call legislators and tell them that you want to see teachers get a much deserved 5%+ raise and a fix for PEIA.
